Marie Brown - Chair

Parent

Marie Brown is currently the Director of Finance at Fearless, a Baltimore-based digital service company providing world-class tech to government and the private sector. She has experience in the for-profit sector, non-profits, and government. She served as a Director on the National Security Council under Presidents George W. Bush and Obama and as an International Economist at the Treasury Department. Her areas of expertise are finance and operations, risk management, Board accountability and oversight, and communications. Marie has an undergraduate degree from Columbia University and a Master’s in International Relations from The School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. She coaches one of the 3rd Grade Las Lomitas basketball teams and has three children, one each at Las Lomitas, La Entrada and Menlo-Atherton.

Diana Engel-Holmes

Classified District Staff - Accountant

Currently, Diana is the Accountant for Las Lomitas Elementary School District. She has successfully completed a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Master’s in Community Development from Mills College. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of San Francisco with a strong background in Accounting and Finance. Diana has her certification as a Chief Business Official from the California Association of School Business Officials. 

Erin Kravitz

Erin Kravitz works in Alumni Relations at Menlo School while maintaining a freelance graphic design business in Menlo Park, having previously worked as a corporate attorney for over a decade. After graduating from Northeastern University School of Law, Erin worked at law firms in both Boston and Palo Alto, most recently at Cooley LLP, where her practice focused on corporate governance and shareholder engagement. Additionally, Erin served for three years on the board of directors of GeoKids, a Menlo Park-based NAEYC-accredited cooperative childcare center and preschool, participating in budget review and financial planning. She currently volunteers with both the Las Lomitas PTA and Las Lomitas League. Erin is an LLESD graduate, having attended for grades K-8, and is a parent of a second grader at Las Lomitas.

Dan Levin

Community Member

After completing his degree in Computer Science at Princeton, Dan spent the first fifteen years of his career in mostly venture backed, small entrepreneurial tech companies, several of which he co-founded.  Then he joined Intuit, the makers of TurboTax and QuickBooks, where among other roles he led the small business group - all of the QuickBooks branded products and services - which comprised roughly $650MM in revenue and 2,000 people.  Dan then moved on to join a 50 person startup called Box, where as President and COO he was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business as it progressed from a $5MM private company to a $500MM revenue NYSE listed firm over 8 years.  Dan then embarked on the fourth stage of his career as a mentor to first time CEO’s of growth stage companies, in addition to which he sits on one public and two private boards, none of which relate in any way to K-12 education

Latha Ramanan

Latha Ramanan is a Product executive and Responsible AI leader. Most recently, she was a Sr.VP and CPO at an EdTech startup bringing voice controlled AI Assistants to K-12 classrooms.  Previously, she was head of product for Amazon Alexa and launched Alexa Echo spot  to millions of customers. In her Edtech role, she worked with public school districts in different parts of the US, Stanford and top Education industry organizations for Education Research and policies for AI/tech. Latha joined La Entrada PTA in 2023/24 as a VP of Student Events to bring La Entrada Career Fair, Robotics tie-in with M-A mentors etc.,to the community. Latha has a MBA from Duke University, a MS in Computer Science from ASU and grew up in India. 

Whitney Thwaite

Certificated District Staff - Teacher

Whitney Thwaite is currently designing and teaching 4th and 5th grade science at La Entrada.  Prior to that she taught Biology for 7th grade at la Entrada for over 20 years.  She received her BS in Biology from UCDavis where she took economics and accounting just for fun.  She then earned a Masters in International Agricultural Development from UCD and a Masters in Education from Stanford.  She loves learning.  She loves numbers. And she loves working with her students.
